KK's Priest and Accept brought their Full Metal Assault tour to the Fox Performing Arts Centers on Oct 4 in downtown Riverside for a night of shredding guitars, pounding drums, and screaming fans.
German heavy metal band Accept started out the night playing some new favorites from their recent released album Humanoid, including The Reckoning, Humanoid, Straight Up Jack and South Side of Hell. They brought the audience into the show when they played Metal Heart, with the audience chanting along to the solo guitar riff of Beethoven's For Elise, and they ended their set with their biggest hit Balls to the Wall with the crowd on their feet head banging and signing along.
Guitarist Wolf Hoffman, Accept's guitarist since he was 16, and creative leader of the band, was a blast to watch move around the stage, and make faces at the crowd. Lead Vocalist Mark Tornillo, who has been with the band since 2009, did a fantastic job of bringing the crowd into the show and Christopher William's drum solo at the end of Metal Heart was amazing.
KK's Priest came out with their usual flair and dynamic presence, starting off with Hellfire Thunderbolt, and rolling through some their own music and the "covers" of Judas Priest songs, they are known for. The frontman and band founder KK Downing was originally the guitarist for Judas Priest, and current vocalist Tim "Ripper" Owens who replaced Rob Halford as Judas Priest's lead vocalist from 1996 - 2003.
The crowd at the Fox Performing Arts Center spent most of the night on their feet and head banging and singing along with their favorite songs, and KK's Priest showed that they are still able to come out and create an amazing night of music and showmanship finishing out the night with their Encore performance of "Raise your Fists."
