Halloween was just around the corner, everybody was in a sinister mood and there was none other than everybody’s favorite Bruno Bruno to host Club Vamp, an alternative live art experience with drag performances, live art pieces, a community costume contest, and an open dance floor that provided a safe space for people of all kinds to attend!
The entirety of the Back to the Grind basement was taken over by Club Vamp and it was decorated for the occasion with gothic and Halloween decorations being placed throughout the basement. The stage was cleared so the queens could fully utilize it and there were curtains hung up for the performers to add suspense and personality to their sets!
The night did not start with any big announcements or big flashy performances. Instead, all the music cut out and various performers walked on stage one by one, holding signs with their respective stage names written on them and they started striking poses in silence on stage, encapsulating the entire audience
The host of the night, Bruno then went on stage to announce the start of Club Vamp followed by a massive cheer from the audience. After that the drag performances started and the queens took over the stage. After each set the flow wouldn’t stop, the next queen would just come right up and perform! The queens would also break into the crowd and would perform and dance along with the audience making for a very high energy and exciting time.
At the end of the night, local drag queen AldaVonCunt came on stage to start the costume contest with prizes given out on behalf of Hustler Hollywood to the winners! There were so many great costumes worn by the audience and they had the chance to show them off and tell everyone about their outfits with three final winners in the end!
It was the end of the night, but the crowd was still alive. Bruno thanked the crowd for attending and that the night was still going on with it turning into a dance party for the remainder of the night. Overall, Club Vamp was filled with glamor and community, with it doing exactly what it set out to do with all sorts of diverse people partying and having a good time. It was such a good sight to see the basement filled with such a loving community for a night and if I were you I would definitely keep an eye out for the next event hosted by Bruno!
