The Observatory was packed wall to wall filled with anticipation as fans eagerly awaited Pouya and Freddie Dredd on their “They Could Never Make Me” tour on March 12th. The energy was intense and the crowd’s excitement filled the venue as they chanted and hyped each other up whilst awaiting the opening act to take the stage.

Opening the night, rapper Cursed had no hesitation setting the tone, thrusting into some high energy songs that had the audience moshing and thrashing within seconds. His aggressive delivery kept the crowd in constant motion, with fans pushing along with every song in his set.

Freddie Dredd was up next, and the entire audience had their hands in the air, ecstatic for this set. The crowd’s energy was insane and Freddie reflected that and made it a point to connect with his fans in the audience by standing on the edge of the stage right in the crowd and interacted with them by high fiving them, pointing them out, and even by grabbing a fan’s polaroid camera and taking a selfie all without missing a word in his song.

The stage itself was an amazing sight as a massive lowrider prop was parked front and center with its headlights glowing through a sheet cover and the license plate reading “POUYA” paired with an elaborate light set up. This final set was looking to be a spectacle.

It was finally time for Pouya, digital screens around the stage played a short video asking the crowd if they were ready for Pouya, repeating the question several times until the crowd’s volume overshadowed the speakers. The sheet covering the lowrider was dramatically pulled away and the car came to life as Pouya took over the stage. Within moments Pouya already owned the entire audience and walked every inch of that stage, even climbing up on some speakers and boxes to get closer to some fans off to the side.

With his signature rapid flows combined with his crazy stage presence, this performance was one for the books as Pouya and Freddie absolutely dominated the night, not leaving a single dull moment throughout the night.
