Packinghouse Brewery has been a staple for craft beer in the Riverside community for more than ten years, and lately they have been adding entertainment venue to their list of offerings, and on Friday Feb 9, they served up a double header of punk rock goodness to go along with their tasty brews.
First on the stage was Automaton Tom who, according to their social medias, are a Los Angeles based band with an eclectic variety and musicians from diverse back grounds. The band includes Bobby Cummings @bobbysixstrings, Austin Clark @gibby_austin, Andrew Lasater @andrewtheguitarhero, Tyler Van Salazar @bigstringboi
Next up was the headliner act, Less Than Perfect, a High Desert Punk Rock band comprised of Chris Glenn, @chris.glenn.967, on bass, Eric Lawrence, on vocals and guitar, and Kyle Cox, on drums. They had a great sound and brought tons of energy to the stage.
There was a definite nostalgia to the early days of the craft beer scene being a working brewery that also is a tasting room area and there is nothing more punk than listening to a couple of amazing bands that drove hours to play for a small group of people. Both experiences were accented by delicious tacos being served up by Las Amigas Tacos, and seriously, these tacos are the bomb!
Packinghouse Brewery has recently come under new ownership, and they are proving that they are ready to take the small brewery to the next level, and they have been bringing in quality entertainment every week.
