Many genres and bands have performed at the Glasshouse and on March 22nd, Go Ahead and Die’s Unhealthy Mechanisms tour made a stop as well. With direct support from Bodybox and local bands including Deep Within, Ophidia, Desoectomy, and Mollify. This made for an exciting night filled with mosh pits.
Go Ahead and Die hails from Arizona and is headed up by Max Cavalera and his son Igor Amadeus Cavalera, along with bassist Jackie Cruz and drummer Johnny Valles. These talented individuals have cultivated a sound that echoes through the soul. The provocative lyrics of the album, “Unhealthy Mechanisms” allow the listener to reflect on the realities of the human experience. Many people go through hardships in life and this album serves as something we can relate to as many of the songs confront the harsh realities of our world.
The energy was through the roof as the opening bands presented their own unique sound, which created an environment where everybody was allowed to freely move with the music. The intense drum beat followed by sinister guitar riffs filled the room and sent everybody into chaos. You could feel the music enter your body and the only way to let it out was to thrash and move with it.
