On Feb. 27th, fans poured into the Glass House in Pomona to see Dorian Electra and indulge in some Fanfare! Last year in October Dorian Electra released their third album titled Fanfare and began the Fanfare World Tour spanning across North America and Europe! The show included performances by the Frost Children and Atlgrandma.
The lights suddenly went out as the music started and Dorian Electra went on stage and the fanfare began with the songs “Symphony” and “Idolize” off of their most recent album.
Song after song, the intensity was ramping up with dancers performing, executioners coming on stage to decapitate Dorian Electra, props being moved on and off the stage, and even a giant marionette figurine engulfing Electra during the performance of their song “Muppet”. These performances had such a high quality production value that it wasn’t just a concert, it was fanfare!
After being decapitated by an executioner on stage, Dorian re-emerged on stage with a completely different outfit reminiscent of their aesthetic from their first album “Flamboyant” and rolled out a keyboard to perform a piano reprise of their classic song “Career Boy”. The crowd was singing along to each word while holding their phone’s flash up to go along with the song.
Dorian Electra thanked everyone for attending the show and supporting them before seemingly ending the show and walking off stage, but the crowd was not ready for the spectacle to be over. The words “Encore! Encore! Encore!” were chanted before Dorian got right back on stage to perform their fan-favorite songs “Sodom & Gomorrah” and “Freak Mode” even inviting all of the performers from throughout the night to end off the night and thank everybody.
Earlier in the night, Atlgrandma started off the show and ramped up the crowd’s excitement with their high energy performance! The crowd was really compellingly thrashing and singing along to their songs throughout the duration of their set.
Next up on stage was Frost Children - opening up with their song “Got Me By The Tail” and the crowd kept up with their music's high energy throughout their entire set. Halfway through their performance Lulu Prost took the time out to allow the crowd to ask them some questions with one fan asking “What is one of your favorite childhood TV shows?” with Angel Prost excitingly responding “SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS!”
