A packed crowd of excited fans shook the hall as Coheed and Cambria headlined a night of rock and roll at the Riverside Municipal Auditorium on September 13, supported by Death Lens, and Modern Color.
First up for the night was the self-described "five Brown boys from La Puente" band called Death Lens. The energy was high and ignited the crowd as they performed fan faves like "Bombshell" and "Disturb the Peace" and even brought out a guest vocalist during their set.
Next up was Modern Color, a South Bay are band, who showcased songs like Pale, Dancing Waters Club, and Jacaranda. Modern Color is getting ready to go on a full tour with Drug Church starting in Oct.
Finally Coheed and Cambria came onto the stage starting off with Dark Sentencer and the crowd exploded with excitement. Their set traveled through their extensive collection of amazing music, including Favor House, Blind Side, Disappearing Act, and of course, at the end, Welcome Home.
Concert attendee Kasey Spatz, from Long Beach, said her favorite moment from the concert was "During the song 'In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3' they performed a 12ish minute jam session to then sing 'Happy Birthday' and bring out a cake with candles for a tech whose birthday it was." Spatz continued "He blew out the candles and they jammed a little more before resuming the song and finishing it."
The concert promoted Coheed and Cambria's new album "Vaxis II: A Window of the Waking Mind" and they will continue their tour through October with dates in Las Vegas, and Australia.
