On September 28th, 2024 the Riverside Arts Council took over White Park in downtown Riverside and hosted the Riverside Art & Music Festival, a free event open to the public where Riverside artists could showcase their artwork, local communities could showcase their talents, and musicians could perform on stage in front of an audience.

Throughout the park dozens of food and art vendors were set up, there were two stages where performers were performing. Ranging from dancers to local theater performances and even live bands performing on the big stage, the whole event was packed with things to look forward to. One performance that caught my attention was one by The Full Circle Players where they showcased a full battle scene from their upcoming production of Henry V.

There were so many different art mediums being showcased and sold at the festival from ceramics, stickers, crochets, photographs, and more! There were even art exhibits set up throughout the festival that people could walk up to and interact with and art workshops hosted by local organizations!

Local Riverside artist Emma Gage displayed and sold their artwork at the festival and shared that they thought it was a really fun event and that it was a great opportunity for artists that are part of any art medium with a good mix of different art forms being displayed there. In the end, the Riverside Art & Music Festival was a great event filled with community and art appreciation. If you missed out on this event, don’t worry because the Riverside Arts Council hosts a monthly Artswalk in Downtown Riverside every first Thursday of each month with the next one coming up on October 3rd!
