Classic rock fans packed the Riverside Municipal Auditorium on December 5 for a night of heavy riffs, powerful performances and tributes to icons. Zakk Sabbath headlined the event, supported by tribute acts The Iron Maidens and Zoso, delivering a full evening of iconic rock music.
The Iron Maidens kicked things off with a strong set of Iron Maiden hits, including "Aces High" and "The Trooper." The all-female band impressed with tight musicianship and dynamic stage presence. Vocalist Kirsten Rosenberg nailed the high-flying vocals, while guitarist Courtney Cox’s solos brought the crowd to life. There was even a visit from "Eddie the Head" who did battle with the band and the crowd.
Zoso took the stage next, delivering a near-flawless Led Zeppelin experience. Hits like "The Immigrant", "The Ocean" and "Black Dog" had the audience singing along, while Matt Jernigan’s vocals and mannerisms mirrored Robert Plant’s style. A stand out was Bevan Davies, drummer, who brought a ton of energy to his performance.
Headliners Zakk Sabbath closed the night with a hard-hitting set of Black Sabbath favorites. Guitarist Zakk Wylde’s searing solos and gritty tone shone on tracks like "War Pigs" and "Symptom of the Universe." Bassist Rob "Blasko" Nicholson and drummer Joey Castillo kept the heavy grooves going, perfectly capturing the spirit of Sabbath’s iconic sound.
Wylde’s high-energy performance, including signature guitar theatrics, kept the audience engaged throughout the set. Fans cheered along to every riff and sang with full force on classic choruses, especially when Blasko and Wylde jammed together on stage.
