The North American tour kicked off in late July and will continue until the beginning of October, with The Wiltern show being the second-to-last. With it being just one day away from the end, you would think the bands had already given their all, but that was not the case. Both Dirty Honey and The Struts delivered explosive performances that fans will remember forever.

Hundreds of fans buzzed with excitement as they waited for the show to start. Finally, the lights dimmed and Dirty Honey took the stage. Bright red lights doused the venue and fans cheered as frontman Marc LaBelle interacted with the crowd, pointing the mic toward the pit and waving his hand. The Los Angeles based rock band opened up with “Gypsy” from their self-titled debut album. While the guitar, bass and percussion could clearly be heard, there seemed to be some technical issues where LaBelle’s vocals were way too low. Many fans expressed their concerns by gesturing and even yelling out to turn up his mic. Thankfully, LaBelle picked up on it and asked the sound team to adjust his mic. There was a noticeable difference in sound a couple of songs in and Dirty Honey was able to continue their show without restraint.

Toward the end of an excellent performance of “Don’t Put Out the Fire”, LaBelle quickly went off stage and reappeared with a foldable chair. The frontman then passed the chair down the pit, hopped off the stage and made his way through the pit until he made it to general admission. LaBelle placed his chair in the middle of the audience, stood on it and worked with the crowd to continue to belt out the lyrics. Dirty Honey finished off their set with one of their more popular songs, “Rolling 7s” before all four band members took center stage and gave a deep bow to the audience.

With the new high of watching Dirty Honey perform, the audience pulsed with life as the crew came out to switch out sets. As The Struts ran onto the stage, the venue was filled with screaming fans. Immediately, frontman Luke Spiller hyped up the crowd by enthusiastically moving about the stage, jumping and clapping to the rhythm. The British glam rock band opened up with two songs off their “YOUNG&DANGEROUS” album that had the crowd screaming lyrics, jumping and clapping. After an electrifying performance of “Body Talks”, Spiller announced that they would now perform the entirety of their debut album, “Everybody Wants”, from start to finish.

The Struts were meant to be on the stage. They didn’t just take it, they owned it. It was hard to take your eyes off Spiller as he moved around and sang his heart out. Everything about their performance was mesmerizing. It all seemed perfectly executed, especially when the band members timed their movements in time to the lights and drums. The crowd was on fire, belting out song lyrics and swaying their hands in the air. Even when the band took things down a notch with slower songs like “Merry Go Round”, “Young Stars” and “Only Just A Call Away”, the liveliness never faded.

Both Dirty Honey and The Struts were commanding, charismatic and unforgettable. By the time the final notes faded and the band took their final bow, the crowd was still buzzing. Fans’ hearts were full, voices hoarse and memories were made. The “Everybody Wants” tour was not just a tour; it was definitely something special.
