On May 30, 2025, the House of Blues in Anaheim was electric as fans packed in for a high-octane night headlined by rising stars Sleep Theory. But before the Memphis-based genre-benders took the stage, a powerhouse lineup featuring Stray View, Oxymorrons, and Nevertel primed the crowd with dynamic performances of their own.

Opening the night was Stray View, fronted by Dave Escamilla—formerly of Crown the Empire—marking a fierce return to the stage. The band launched into "Wasteland" and "Come Down" with unrelenting energy, blending emotional hooks with heavy breakdowns. Their set, which also included "Forget It" and "Who You Really Are," established a raw, visceral tone for the evening and showcased Escamilla’s signature vocals in a fresh new context.

Next up were New York’s Oxymorrons, a genre-hybrid outfit made up of brothers Demi “Deee” and Kami “KI,” along with drummer Matty Mayz and guitarist Jafé Paulino. With their blend of punk, alt-rock, and hip-hop, they tore through songs like "Green Vision," "Justice," and "Melanin Punk." Their high-energy set, filled with social commentary and crowd engagement, offered a dynamic and unapologetically unique contrast to the evening’s heavier moments.

Hailing from Tampa, Florida, Nevertel followed with a polished and emotionally charged set. Formed in 2013 by childhood friends Jeremy Michael, Raul Lopez, and Alec Davis, the band has carved out a reputation for blending post-hardcore with hip-hop sensibilities. At House of Blues, they delivered standout performances of “Losing Faith,” “Sacrifice,” and “Criminal,” and later returned to the stage for a fiery collaboration with Sleep Theory on “Break the Silence.”

Closing the night was Memphis quartet Sleep Theory, who have rapidly risen since their formation in 2020. Led by the commanding vocals of Cullen Moore and backed by Landen Terry (guitar), Paolo Vergara (bass), and Ben Pruitt (drums), the band delivered a thrilling headline set. Opening with “Fallout,” they navigated anthemic originals like “Gone or Staying,” “Numb,” and “Stuck in My Head,” while surprising the crowd with reimagined covers of Boyz II Men’s “Can You Stand the Rain” and *NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye.” A standout moment was their collaboration with Nevertel on “Break the Silence,” blending both bands' energies seamlessly. Their encore featured “Another Way,” ending the night on a euphoric note and cementing their place as a must-watch act in modern rock.

With each band offering its own twist on alternative and heavy music, the May 30 show wasn’t just a concert, it was a cross-genre showcase that proved punk is alive, evolving, and anything but predictable. From Stray View's metalcore resurgence to Oxymorrons' genre-defying fusion, Nevertel's emotional depth, and Sleep Theory's commanding performance, the night was a testament to the dynamic and diverse landscape of modern rock music.
