On March 26, 2025, the House of Blues Anaheim resonated with the sounds of early 2000s emo and post-hardcore as Armor for Sleep headlined a nostalgic evening, supported by Hellogoodbye and Boys Night Out. The event was part of the "What to Do When You Are Dead" 20th Anniversary Tour, celebrating two decades since the release of Armor for Sleep's seminal album.


Opening the night was Hellogoodbye, the California-based indie pop band known for their infectious melodies and heartfelt lyrics. Formed in 2001 by lead vocalist Forrest Kline, Hellogoodbye gained prominence with their debut album "Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!" which featured the hit single "Here (In Your Arms)." At the House of Blues Anaheim, they delighted fans with a setlist that included "All of Your Love," "Baby, It's Fact," and "When We First Met." Their upbeat performance and engaging stage presence set an energetic tone for the evening.


Next to take the stage was Boys Night Out, marking their first tour in 18 years. Hailing from Burlington, Ontario, the band was formed in 2001 and quickly became a staple in the emo and post-hardcore scenes with albums like "Make Yourself Sick" and the concept-driven "Trainwreck." Their return was met with enthusiastic applause as they performed fan favorites such as "I Got Punched in the Nose for Sticking My Face in Other People's Business," "Medicating," and "Composing." The band's chemistry and passion were evident, reigniting the fervor of longtime fans and introducing new listeners to their dynamic sound.


Headlining the night, Armor for Sleep delivered a powerful performance in celebration of their album "What to Do When You Are Dead." Formed in 2001 in New Jersey, the band is renowned for their concept albums and introspective lyrics. Their setlist featured the album performed in its entirety, including tracks like "Car Underwater," "The Truth About Heaven," and "The End of a Fraud." The audience was immersed in a wave of nostalgia, singing along to every word as the band revisited the themes of love, loss, and the afterlife that defined the album.

The House of Blues Anaheim provided an intimate yet vibrant setting for the concert. Located in the Anaheim’s Gardenwalk, the venue is known for its eclectic décor and state-of-the-art acoustics, making it a favorite among both artists and concertgoers. The combination of the venue's ambiance and the evening's lineup created a memorable experience that celebrated the enduring impact of these influential bands.
